NRG Victory have recently completed the final stage of their implementation of XLRAS. This specialist recovery system is supporting them in the efficient administration of their excess of loss reinsurance collections. The NRG accounts administered on the system developed by Blem Information Management include NRG nv, NRG Victory, Victory Health, NRG London, NRG Fenchurch and Stockholm Reinsurance Company (UK); accounts which encompass the full range of marine and non-marine classes of business.
Alan Boyce, Senior Manager of Technical Administration at NRG Victory, said "Each of the accounts we deal with has its own history and attendant complications. XLRAS has impressed my colleagues and I with its ability to cater very effectively for the specific needs of each account. Part of the reason for this must be its ease of use. We have got to know XLRAS very well over the past year and we are increasingly confident with it as a comprehensive tool for calculating and supporting our reinsurance recovery decisions."
Gavin Blem, Managing Director of Blem Information Management, commented "I derive immense satisfaction from each client reaching completion of their implementation. It is the result of concerted effort by our clients and us, and further proof that XLRAS is the comprehensive solution for all cedants operating in the London and global markets."
Alan went on to say "The level of technical support and product innovation consistently delivered by Blem is excellent. We have received several upgrades as part of their maintenance and R&D program and these have provided new and useful functionality that has often made our task easier. I know that they are developing a new module to reduce the time and effort needed to produce ARCFs and we look forward to seeing this and evaluating whether it can be integrated into our existing procedures."
Gavin commented "Our motivation today is the same as it was when I launched the business in 1987. That is, stick to what we do best and do everything we can to ensure client satisfaction in the products and services that we deliver. We do this by responding rapidly to client needs, and maintaining quality within the XLRAS fast track development program. As our industry takes stock after recent events, it is more important than ever for each cedant to process their reinsurance recoveries as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is make or break for many organisations and XLRAS can make the difference."
The first public viewing of the APH module for XLRAS will be at the Association of Run-Off Companies (ARC) Congress at Gibson Hall, London on 20th March. This new module will process data supplied by the London Market Claims Service plus that maintained by clients, to produce ARCFs and other information in support of the collections produced by XLRAS. Feedback from reinsurers indicates that this will certainly help cedants to get their collections settled. One estimate for unprocessed reinsurance recoveries related to asbestos is $20bn. Cedants addressing this issue will clearly derive a substantial advantage over those that don't.
